The Future of Self Storage Has Arrived

RoboVault sounds something in the way of Spielberg’s AI, or Lucas’ alternate reality of telekinetic powers and laser swords. In reality, it solidly sits in what us mere Muggles call Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. RoboVault, a new state of the art storage facility, boasts technology that, until now, only existed in the movies or in the hands of Jack Bauer. In a post by SBWire, a press release search engine of sorts, the media relations contact of RoboVault Jack Author writes, “The 155,000 square-foot facility features biometric robotic transfer and high security technology ensuring the safety and privacy of stored valuables, such as fine art, exotic cars, antiques, fine furnishings, wine, business and forensic property or smaller items such as jewelry, precious metals, currency or important documents.” (skip the first 20 seconds) Translation: This is some cool innovation (and may I say evolution?) happening within the self storage community. Furthermore, in comparison to the security measures RoboVault enlists, Gringotts Bank in Diagon Alley proves a tough rival (although imaginary).  Even if RoboVault has heart beat detectors, fingerprint scanners, and can withstand a category five hurricane, I’m pretty sure Voldemort could still get in. After all, Gringotts’ vaults reside below the earth while RoboVault’s storage hovers in the sky. If a thief breaks into a vault at Gringotts’, the treasure multiplies and burns the thief whereas at RoboVault, if you try to unlock another’s vault, a silent alert is sent out. But Gringotts’ is purely fictional and RoboVault is as good as it gets when it comes to personal self storage. Marvin Chaney, President and CEO of RoboVault, states, “RoboVault has ushered in a new era in self-storage,” and it has. RoboVault leads the innovative front when it comes to self storage and the realities of the future are rising upon us. After all, Martin Cooper invented the cell phone in 1973 after watching an episode of Star Trek.
